Derbyshire
Derbyshire es un condado situado en el centro de Inglaterra, en el Reino Unido. Su capital es Matlock. Ocupa un área de 2.625 Km² y su población estimada (2003) es de 976.212 habitantes. Es un condado muy montañoso por la parte norte. Por el sur está lindando con el Parque Nacional del Distrito de los Picos, lugar de gran concentración turística. En la localidad de Buxton hay un balneario muy frecuentado por el turismo. El condado limita con Gran Manchester, West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Staffordshire y Cheshire.

Condado administrativo (pob., 2001: 734.581 hab.), geográfico e histórico del centro de Inglaterra.

El paisaje varía de los páramos en el norte hasta las tierras bajas de Trent en el sur. Su economía va desde el turismo en el distrito de High Peak hasta la minería e industria metalmecánica en los yacimientos de carbón en el este y en el sur del condado. Fuera de incorporar el distrito rural de Tintwistle, que pertenecía a Cheshire, el condado tradicional de Derbyshire quedó intacto después de la reorganización administrativa de 1974. Su capital es Matlock.
